Cheadle Hulme School was founded in 1855. From its beginnings it was fully co-educational and this has had a profound effect on the nature of the School's development. It cares for its pupils as individuals in a friendly environment. There are 1150 pupils: 164 (7-11) and 986 (11-18), of whom 230 are in the Sixth Form. Pupils are offered a wide curriculum in both the Junior and Senior Schools. External examination results at GCSE and 'A' Level are excellent, and the School has had consistent success in the Oxford and Cambridge Universities' entrance procedures. The vast majority of the School's pupils go on to Higher Education.
Cheadle Hulme School offers its pupils a very wide range of extra-curricular activities. The school is renowned for the quality of its music. Art and Drama also flourish. It encourages as many pupils as possible to involve themselves in sport. There are opportunities to participate in rugby, hockey, football, netball, cross-country, cricket, athletics, tennis, swimming and badminton.
The School's main aim is to produce mature and self-disciplined young people who will be able to cope with the pressures which they will face in adult life.
